Unique custom architectural design inspired by historic Santa Fe & the West.
Description
Feather & Gill Architects is an award-winning firm, based in Santa Fe, with extensive expertise in both the design and building facets of construction.
Principal architect, Dan Featheringill, brings a unique view to the design of projects, having been a licensed General Contractor for over 25 years, prior to becoming a registered architect in New Mexico and Colorado. His first undergraduate degree in Fine Arts truly allows him to put artful design into architecture, while his experience as a General Contractor allows him the common-sense understanding of complex construction standards and principles. Finally, his passion for historical architecture and preservation leads him to always demand the finest in craftsmanship and quality in both design and materials. From traditional and non-traditional design to the adaptive reuse of existing structures, each project is an artistic example of form meeting function.
Artistic architecture + design in sync with building expertise + demanding the finest craftsmanship and detail orientation = a buildable, budget-met, customized and uniquely beautiful project for each and every client. The goal of Feather & Gill Architects is to exceed the expectations of our clients in the total experience of their project, from design through construction.
Feather & Gill Architects believes in the sustainability and adaptive reuse of our architectural treasures, here in the West. To that end, Featheringill has indeed put his time where his heart is - having volunteered his time as a mayoral appointee to the City of Santa Fe's Historic Design and Review Board for two terms, as well as being commissioned by the Town of Taos to work on the revision of the Taos Historic Design Standards, in 2010. Many of our recent projects have involved the complexities of working on structures within a Historic District.
Knowing how precious our pristine environment is, here in Santa Fe and the West, has propelled Featheringill to become and advocate and proponent. He has been a member of the US Green Building Council since 2004 and has sat on numerous City and Builder Association Green Building Councils and Task Forces.
Working with a US Green Building Council LEED AP brings design values to the project that keep energy costs low while using materials that will minimize the impact on our earth.
Feather & Gill Architects offers the complete package: an intelligent and thoughtful complement of design, building and environmental expertise.
