Description
Hoopes + Associates, Architects was founded in 1992 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Dedicated to quality design, Hoopes + Associates has become one of the top firms in Santa Fe. Desert Living Magazine had the following to say about Hoopes + Associates in naming them to their list of top firms in the Southwest. From the looks of the residential and institutional work produced by Hoopes + Associates, you would think this was a much larger firm. Proficient with traditional materials, H+A infuses their designs with modernist principals of form and minimalism. This is one to watch in coming years.

In addition to modernist buildings, Hoopes + Associates has become know for sensitive historic preservation projects. The firm has received awards for this work from the State of New Mexico Historic Preservation Office, The City of Santa Fe, and Baltimore Heritage. With a sensitivity and respect for the existing structures, H+A works with clients to preserve the emotional significance and community importance of such projects.

The firm has designed projects as varied locations as Hawaii, Maryland and New Mexico. We have become known for being responsive and responsible to the environment for which we are designing. This sensitivity often requires utilization of new materials and exploration of unique ways of placing buildings so that we can preserve the landscape and the surrounding context. H+A is a member of the US Green Building Council.

Craig Hoopes, AIA, has been practicing as a partner in architectural firms since 1984. A graduate of Cornell University, his work has earned recognition as an Architecture Magazines Emerging Talent awardee and Baltimore Magazines - One to Watch. Hoopes + Associates is a small firm by design, Craig Hoopes is personally involved with each client and user group.

Hoopes + Associates is considered one of the top boutique firms in Santa Fe offering full architectural services and a broad network of professional partners. Working with our partners in the specialty fields of engineering and fabrication we are able to respond to every detail of a project. Hoopes + Associates Architects is a firm deeply committed to community, pragmatic design and enduring architecture.
